Is it safe to use Dectomax or Cydectin 2%LA for in lamb ewes?thanks

Yes unless something has changed a lot using it this time of year

To be on the safe side speak to your vet. Do the sheep have an itch ? if so have you had the tested incase you can yous a pour on?

Bought some in lamb ewes thought i give them a jab just incase they do have scab and affect my own flock

Best be safe than sorry outher option is isolate them and see if any start

If you do not know the history of the sheep do not use Cydectin LA - if they've ever been dosed with Footvax it could kill them

The amount of scab about in recent years is nearly enough to put you off buying in sheep from markets, right pain in the arse at the wrong time!! If you want to jab them dectomax them twice, two to three weeks apart as it will only kill live lice so second jab is to catch the egg hatch that they are already carrying!!! Move to a fresh field after jab if you can so they aren’t picking up eggs off scratching posts an fences!! Right ball ache, dipping is a lot easier in the long run and very effective with good practice

Pretty sure it only applies to 1%cydectin ,how late do people dip or shower in lambers

I don’t buy from markets and until they sort out the scab issue I won’t either. Unless you have a dipping tank at home You can’t choose to bring stock home that don’t fetch what you want for them or they bring scab back with them.

My vet reckons that if people didn't buy in stock her work would be halved
If we had a rotational grazing/clean grazing system as a base for the UK flock she would be out of business
