This is the kind of damage we have suffered from large numbers of Red. As many as 90 hinds have been seen at times!

Round here they are a big problem
I often have fallow herd of 60
A farm near here often has 300 plus devastate crops they do most damage the 2 weeks before harvest all heads eaten
Don’t mind roe but fallow just a pest
Numbers have been high since the 1980s
Who says U.K. farming damage wildlife

Deer are out of control around here , saw a herd of 100 + this spring . Gamekeepers are more concerned with their pheasants/ partridges so don't control and won't allow stalkers to come onto their estates to control them ...

To many stalkers are only interested in culling bucks and stags because of the profit from taking clients out, to keep the deer numbers under control a significant hind and doe cull is required in the winter months, time is limited because many pheasant shoots don’t want the birds disturbing during the season,so it just make the required cull numbers even more difficult to achieve!

I shoot all the fallow that came onto our land, they're a nuisance. I go out most nights at this time of year with a torch to see if they're about. So far this year I've not seen any since mid summer, and those two didn't last long. I get bored with venison but there's several local people who always seem to want them.

Ironically I've been thinking about farming some.

The other problem is syndicates. Group of stalkers pays for the shooting over an estate and then they don't turn up often enough to make a proper impression on numbers or formulate a cohesive cull plan. But in many places they're paying big money to the estate and therefore the estate don't want to upset them by getting a stalker in to cull hard or telling the syndicate they've got to try harder.

Too true, they're never going to want to eradicate them in the same way as someone losing their crop will!

Just Roe and the odd muntjac with the occasional large herd of Fallow here, have a stalker who does a very good job. The fallow are the problem, 40-80 mowing machines, they come over from next door but never seem to stick around, he's had a few mind.

Wow some of you guys are lucky! Wish we had deer in numbers in North Shropshire as some of you have in other parts of the country.
If anyone would like a hand to thin the numbers out with problem deer then please bear me in mind.
I dont mind travelling and im willing to pay a decent fee for my own stalking ground.
More than happy to help do other pest control, over 30 years firearms experience!
Im not like most looking to make money from this but looking for my own rights where I control the deer as a hobby.
Please message me if you think you may have something of interest, I will consider all areas.

Many thanks!
