Considering purchasing a 2001 6910 with north of 11000hrs on it. She's 40k left hand reverse auto quad.
Assuming she hasn't had any major repairs done lately what kind of repairs am I facing in the future.
Workload will be small and varied. Approx 300hrs/year.
She needs tyres and a seat. After that everything seems to be functioning as it should.

TIA

At those hours I would think most of the main things had been done at least once depending on the workload it has had. Based on the one that we had where I used to work I would want to check the driveshaft between the engine and the gearbox at those hours for play in the joints - had one fail on a 6810 at just under 10000 hours, expensive when that happened! 6910 had it changed at around 8000 hours due to play. Rear linkage cross shaft may need changing due to wear on the splines depending on what sort of work it has done, ours had done 6500hrs when it was changed, 6810 had done 8000ish, 6420s 3500 and 6920s 4500hrs when they had them changed so a known wear point. Head gasket went on our one at 7000hrs yet was never touched on the 6810, we did have the turbo done on the latter though at 9000hrs ish due to oil leaking in it. If it's not got TLS check the front axle pivot bushes for wear too.

Our 6910 was bought with 6500 hours on it so didn't know much of it's previous use but was still more reliable than the newer green tractors, other than servicing the 6810 never had any repair work to speak of until the rockshaft and turbo were done. That had been on the farm since new.

Good tractors capable of high hours. I would be looking at putting a set of brakes in it as a precaution. As mentioned above, rockshaft wear is common on these.
Unlikely to still have the original style LHR on it, but they were also prone to failure and were usually replaced with the more modern style.

Got a 6920 with 10500 hrs for sale if any body interested. mechanically sound apart from sticky spool, mechanicals never been touched apart from regular servicing, needs some cosmetic and some new RH steps (which we have never missed). Good tyres (80%?) 650/540.
Sorry to hyjack thread.

The driveshaft between engine and gearbox is good one. If you are lucky it just goes pop with one hell of a racket, had that happen on a 6400. But I have seen plenty deeres at the dealer with the front of the transmission totally fecked because of it.
Also, don't buy one without aircon, they are horrible without as the airducts are conveniantly located directly above the transmission for optimal heat transfer.

I'm thinking along the same lines myself. Those tractors weren't bought to toodle around doing 500hrs/year.

My 52 plate 6920 (basically a 10 series) has just over 8k hours on it now. I bought it from the original owner (who I knew) ten years ago and has averaged about 400hrs a year since then.
I had to change the front tyres two years ago as they had perished enough to let the air out.

I fully expect the old girl to see me out.👍

Is the Autoquad on that age not the big bill in waiting?
i think it’s probably most reliable box out there
couple it to fpt engine massey 3000 bosch hydraulics reno sprung cab dana axle and air suspension off a 50 series vomit
would not need another tractor
got 46000 hours between 4 older deere’s
got a few oil leaks to sort
but they just keep going 4/500 hrs year

It depends how its been used, what its service history is, has it only done 1100 hours etc.
Next thing will be, how good are you at spotting faults and fixing the issues that are more than likely to crop up with a tractor of that age and can you afford to have it out of action?
Its unlikely to be cheap (be wary if it is) like all used stuff, you're taking a gamble.
