Why the question mark? (That's assuming they won't harm the black rats, of course....).

But, seriously, what would the legal position be? Shouldn't the London parks submit to the law like the rest of the UK? We've already beheaded a king for not complying with the law, don't forget!
We???

Surely you Scots were still "independent" when Chas got topped?

Act of Union was a bit later..... ;)

DEFRA have today released their summary of the consultation responses.

Worth reading through. https://www.gov.uk/government/consu...of-responses-and-next-steps#part-2-next-steps

I especially note that many respondents thought the application criteria were too onerous and many of those who said they would consider a proposal to release beavers did not have any specific site in mind (indeed, some even said "England").

so, wildlife trusts have got all their members to email in and say yes, I guess it's our own fault for not doing the same. Having said that, even if every member of the Farming Forum had emailed a response (and I guess there would be members who are pro beaver release), I think the statutory authorities have already made their mind up anyway, consultation is rather like an election in the USSR or Cuba!

I just think that when culverts in roads get blocked and highways start to be damaged, the wildlife trusts should be out there repairing them (and paying too!).

The next "Badger" in the making?

A booming population and no one in Govt willing to make the call for controlling the animals when causing issues, which they will.

Well, I did respond, but the report seemed almost dismissive of any negative responses...

I do wonder who the "real" Stakeholders are in these instances!!
