Degenative Disc Disease anyone?

Degenerative disc disease - anyone else know about this. Mr been complaining about pain in shoulder for years and paid for an MRI scan on Friday. Not good (damage to neck C5 - C7) spoke to physiotherapist and he advises not to touch it. Farmer seems to be in increasing pain now that its inhibiting his ability to work and we do a lot of strimming/chainsaw/groundworks. Ive been advising him to get private health care for years but he knows it all and never thinks anything bad is going to happen. So looks like going to have to pay full whack. GP Surgery confirmed its a long wait to see a NHS orthopaedic consultant which we cant do so will have to go back to private consult. Im a little annoyed with chiropractic as well as he went for a while and they kept telling him to do exercises but should of guessed (I googled it and it came up for me as an option) He complains that his neck hurts after sleep too. Think its a operation to sort. Unless the cervical epidural injection will help. The pain is now getting him down.

Anyone had a Cervical Epidural Injection and recovered from the issue?

I know two folk who had bad discs fused to relieve the pain. Apart from that exercise to build up supporting muscles helps, discs don`t get much (any?) blood supply so don`t repair themselves.
The injection will reduce the inflammation and consequently the pain.
I had a compressed disc a few years ago..........it chuffing hurts! Hope he gets it sorted.
