Sounds to me the derv is contaminated with something else, kerosine or bio oil...either will clean any residue in your
tank/fuel lines and it all ends up in the filter, sounds to me the filters are blocked, maybe change them fill up at a gararge
see how they run, then get on the reps case..

I put some diesel in my Defender from a different garage than the one I had been using all the time for the past 7 months, 5 or 6 miles down the road it started running like an old dog. When I pulled the pump out of the tank (Td5) it looked like I'd taken it out from the engine sump. The tank's contents had all gone black, it was a reaction from the different bio diesels. Cost me a new pump and filters.

The pumps do go black but it's usually due to the copper injector seals allowing gases to blow back into the spill gallery.

I know what you mean but this time it wasn't the age old seals and washers, they were only changed a month or so beforehand. A couple of tanks later and we were back to normal, or as normal as you can be with a Land Rover ;)

If it was to be found that there was a high content of Kero in your fuel it may be that the tanker has done a line change before your delivery (i.e going from kero at his last delivery to diesel at yours). If he has done his job properly there would be very little contamination with only a few lts going from one product to another, or the lazy way is to flush his line as he is delivering into your tank adding about 100lts of Kero to your diesel as it works it's way through all the tankers pipes and hose reel. But depending on how much diesel you had delivered, it shouldn't make that much difference unless he has fluffed up and forgot to change product's and given you much more Kero than was originally planned

Good point....Also to remember is if you get "dipped you will get fined if your diesel is contaminated with heating oil
they dont simply check for red, they run tests on the fuel to see if theres any small quantitys of non road use fuels
and kero is one of them, the other thing im thinking is some diesel is blended with bio between 5/10% in France
wonder if they have started that here...that again would flush out your pipes and clog filters.

How long did you leave the tank to settle before filling your cars?
Is your fuel tank pumped and filtered?
Have you ever added a fuel additive or would you use your derv within 4-6 weeks? Newer fuels need using fairly quickly

Always leave for a day to settle .no additive added land rover on road pulling trailer every day so load not last long
