Deutsch connector - moving pins

Bought a new foot switch for my Trimble 750. Manual says to move one of the wires to a different pin on the Deutsch connector. I'm a bit lost on how to do this and it doesn't mention any more.

Can anyone advise how to do this please?

the easiest plugs to do this with, pull the coloured insert out the end were the pins are, some female sockets this is a little tricky and need a hooked oring pick. tiny screw driver and press the tab in side then pull the wire out, slide it back in the hole you want and refit the insert too lock pins in place. Hands down best plugs on the market for ease to work on and ultra reliable.

Here's a library pic of the connector - I'll try and get a better one today.

Pull out the orange block on the front end with pair of needle nose pliers. Then you can see individual catches for each pin. Lever them with a fine screwdriver and pull the wire from the back. Might need to do several wires to get them all out the back.

Read carefully, as it's only some scenarios where you need to swap pins on the port replicator. My used one already had the first bit of loom for a footswitch, so I didn't need to touch it and plumbed an ebay job to it. Might be an idea to test first with a jumper wire across the connector to make steering engage.

A word of warning!

I had a similar situation trying to connect my Trimble to to my master on/off switch on my Sprayer controller box (via a relay).

The Deutsch plug came with instructions showing the PIN numbers in a diagram. BUT the numbers on the diagram were WRONG.

The PIN numbers needed are right. BUT you will need a magnifying glass to read the numbers on the actual Deutsch plug itself to identify which pin is the right number. Don’t follow the diagram
