Deutz 8280 - The worse purchase of my life!!!

Have to say the biggest mistake I’ve ever made was buying deutz tractors deutz warranty is non existent in my opinion they are a pile of sh1t I hate even looking at one passing now!! Thankfully our local dealer stop selling them a year ago as he seen the light

I can't say I have ever seen a Deutz locally apart from maybe one.

I mean the bigger question has to be why would you buy a Deutz if you can buy a Valtra? I mean they will do you one in any colour you like, too. So why a Deutz?

Don't understand the hate for the OP or why people are replying as he is.

Guy seems to have paid good money for 4x particular tractors and is pretty irate about it. Understandably so. Manufacturer seems totally unconcerned by his plight. Says it all really.
Good point. If Mr Deutz can`t look after someone who`s bought FOUR of his tractors it`s a poor state of affairs I`d say. It seems to be a common story over the years that Deutz don`t seem interested in looking after their customers. Why do they spend money advertising their tractors in the UK if they aren`t prepared to look after the most important thing - THE CUSTOMER!

That's an old version and probably entirely down to the operator I'd say.

Wrong tool for the job maybe? There's a reason why contractors don't run Deutz tractors, there's also a reason why they're cheaper than the other brands.

Their smaller (older) Agrotron and SAME based stockman tractors on the other hand have proven to be reasonably reliable and withstood the test of time.

I guess it really comes down to what OP expects DF to do about it? The tractors are already being repaired under warranty.

The real crime here is the shabby, backwater, 3rd world style "dealership". It's like ol' Nigel just hung a Deutz sign on the gate and started selling tractors out of his shed.......

If a business can't/won't put a little bit of money into modernising the presentation of its premises, it's unlikely to get any respect from the manufacturer, nor is it likely to be able to step in and help the customer out in situations like this. One has to ask themselves if spending close to a million pounds on tractors with a business like this is a good idea in the first place?

Agrotron tractors are not reliable
Once you get to own one and are in regular touch with the dealers and mechanics you soon learn these problems aren’t something unique to you they are just general
They are not a trouble free tractor in any way

Old T-series (before T4) was notorious for having vario problems. Even so much so that dealers here refused to sell one with vario.
