Deutz Agrotron rear brake 115 mk3

Moving the tractor last night from one farm to another and as I was descending down hill with the low loader I applied the brake gently all of a sudden the rear left hand wheel started to bind.
I stopped looked around and all seemed fine. Got to the yard and played with the independent brakes and the wheel locked up but then freed up by going back and forth.
Got back home and now the brakes are spot on and both brake simultaneously.

Tractor has stood for the last 2 months
Back end oil was very low

Any ideas?

You might need to be a bit more specific in your tractor model and age.
I did one once where there was a valve or piston of some sort on the rear axle which had water ingress and had rusted... I can't recall any more detail, soz..

I had a 1997 agrotron 6.00s. Had problems with the brakes. Seemed to lock on sometimes going down the road. If you turned the tractor on and off they would be ok. This was @6000hrs. Ended up selling the tractor and in ended up going to Romania as nobody knew what it could be without stripping. The problem being with price of parts and labour where do you stop. This was 10yrs ago, sometimes wish I had kept it as a bit of a project to see if I could haves sorted it realistically I would never of had the time.

Deutz brakes are quite bad for this , if you lower the lift arms and look on top of the trumpets you'll see the mechanism that works the brakes, these quite often get sticky or mud etc builds up underneath them , make sure they're clean and give them a knock back down if they're sticking up at all. They sometimes need a bit of freeing off.
