Deutz Fahr KM22 - parts donor

Good afternoon,

After many years of service my rather old KM22 parted with a drum yesterday morning. Is there any value in any of it for parts or is it all heading straight to the scrap man?

I have decided that repairing it probably isn't going to be cost effective, as it had a fault before the drum dropped off.

Thanks

If you want another working one I have one. Only stopped using it cos I bought a Krone disc mower.

If it's just the circlip groove worn and you want to extend it's life put the drum back on, pack up with washers then circlip followed by a run of weld around shaft /circlip /washers - it's all down to how much you use it and if in the future a drum bearing collapses it is definitely then going to the scrap yard .

True we could refit the drum back and weld it in place. Ironically it was the good drum that parted company with the mower. The bottom disc on the other drum is not spinning freely. Hits something internally. Looked at trying to take it off to investigate but studs holding it on are too tight, rounded first off. Heated second made no difference. That's why we are not too bothered about trying to fix it again.

Best way to get the studs out of the saucers is a good hammering to each stud to shock them,if they won't turn then use a hammer and chisel to get them turning

A bit late in the day, Deere324, but did you ever get the drum back on? I’ve got the exact problem with a KM22.
