oil light came on the dash of a 640 was wondering what one it is for

Back end and transmission filters need replaced.

Yeah but it's unlikely unless the handbrake linkage has seized which causes the brakes to drag

How long since the filters were last changed?

She is due a service for the back end she was still driving ok

Nothing to be worried about I'd say, change the filters and oil and it will be fine... Worth checking the filters for fillings just to be sure though.
