What is it with the "likes", ego, fame or financial reward
We have to flatter the ego of the author or he gets all sulky.....

the actual answer is 'neediness' 😁 ..one of my more redeeming features i like to think😁.....@adam_farming i think both mrs spin and i actually remember that harvest festival:)...you were same side of church as us...3 rows back with your girlfriend?....anyhoo i'm pleased you've read from the start and liked it:love:...actually it cheered me up after.....

.....a difficult day.....nothing major really but just the sorta 'uhh how do i get myself in these situations'.....trying to clean out two years muck from a barn in an awkward spot with little manoeuvre space.....water pipes...telephone wire.......fekkin wet...i have to park trailer on farm drive and of course just as i start someone arrives😭...i wouldn't normally attempt it this time of year but admiral is keen to get strawbs here and i'm keen to keep admiral happy:)....the barn was built in 1980....my parents putting it up to replace the old defunct milking parlour ,,,,two walls of which survive:).....a reminder of my grandfather's milking days......driving round i oft spot old milk stands thinking i ought to photograph them for a very very nerdy collection😁......the barns location is pants for farm use but this makes it ideal for strawbs little riding school as it's outta the way of our 'farming' ?:scratchhead:

otherwise whilst waiting for liveries to come/go i did the bills😭....phoned the butcher to check he only wanted one cull....'yes sorry james...thing is we've a hotel that wants to try one kilo...i'll shift rest somehow'......i guess the hotel must be good customers and it's worth indulging them lest they go elsewhere;) ..........and of course fettled the sheep....milly ,having spent some time in the ewe field. decided it was time for a change followed mule back to the yard.....down to store lambs and back.....ran back and forth from parked mule to grain store....finally frustrated in titbit search she returned to ewes and jumped back in:rolleyes:

That sounds about right, and "girlfriend" became "wife" a couple of weeks ago ☺
Now reading with interest as we might be taking on 70 or so acres next year as an evening/weekend thing and I want to do something more interesting than just crops. maybe a few 4 legged wooly things?! One thing I have learned from this thread is that I don't want to do any lambing!!

Never complain about barns, I bet I’d be envious of them 😊👍

thursday

what a fekin wet day .......only thing of any note was sorting out some ram lambs for the abbatoir and 4 cull ewes for mart sat....took ram lambs in thursday afternoon.........lairage chap was busy....poor lad on his todd at moment .....'shove a broom up my @rse i could sweep at same time' he says...later he apologises cos i had to wait...i tell him never to worry about keeping me waiting:)......he's been working 5am to 4:30pm all week:rolleyes:

friday

after a not particularly productive thursday i had big plans for friday...get some muck out...sort sheep for mart then muck out stables in strawbs barn after lunch(y)......first up though the forklift batt finally expired:banghead:....by the time we'd done basics and i was back from yomb with new batt and started it was 11am😭......anyhoo caught up in the end.....mucking out the stables went quite well(y)........got 90% out of one and 70% out of the other using the mini digger(y)......monday gonna be wet so i'll nab K to help finish😁

admiral in real muddle with pills....4pm i'm off to pharmacy again:rolleyes:.....go via garage to pay bill and get stamps to post other bill....semi retired partner on till.....just had a blue car drive off without paying:mad:....outside i see the farmer who sold us the straw with some groceries....he's a man getting on who sadly lost his wife coupla years back....fortunately his daughter is around and in business with him:)...nevertheless we've not had a bill....i take the opportunity to agree a figure and say i'll do a self billing invoice......'thats fine james' he says 'but you'll need to chuck in an eighteen year old blonde'......now i'm pretty sure neither of us would be much use to aforementioned 'blonde' but in the spirit of bonhomie i tell him if i find one he's got second 'dibs'.....he laughs which is nice:)
