Honestly, spin, the biggest twists and turns here, today, have been from rolling and packing fleeces, etc, and I'm nacred. How in Swansea do you juggle what you do?? :stinkyfeet:

This is going SOOO well!😂😂😂😂😂
Might have to have two gatherings as the guest list is growing exponentially ...

real fekkin 'asset' you are  ...if it wern't for you the rest would've blissfully 'sailed' past 200 pages:rolleyes:....i love you really😁😁

anyhoo seeing as i'm awake/relaxed i'll tell you a little tale of a former life cos it sorta fits with primmy's question about my eclectic workload:)

for 17 yrs i ran a 'public address' business as a sideline...nowt flashy ...just a little business serving local events around here....in the end i got fed up.....was behind with the barn i was converting and mum + dad doing less on farm:)

SO....there are two types of sound system....'8 ohm' the more glamourous music band stuff......hoards of hairy blokes lugging speakers onto stages with technical looking guys pouring over mind numbing mixer desks.....they despise us '100v line' guys....the difference in the two systems can be described by using a house heating analogy....8 ohm is the blazing fire...looks good but is to hot nearby....ok further away ....then useless in other rooms.....where as 100v line is like central heating....a little heat in every room:) ....you'll find 100 v line in stadia...hotels....airports and such...it has less 'bass' so not good for serious music but it's for clarity of speech....the problem with it is that it's cables and speakers need running out and placed amongst the crowd you're covering which makes it a logistically and safety challenging job....it's easy in permanent fixed locations but to just 'rock up' at a site you've not seen ....install it,,,use it a few hours then take it away...not so easy:rolleyes:.....add to that i was often doing 3+ locations spread over sometimes 30 miles in a day and i described the job as 'spinning plates'....much as my life today:rolleyes:

99% of jobs went well but now/then you had 'problems'...i quickly learnt that customers a/ often vastly over estimated the crowd they were going to get and b/ treated you like a 'supermarket list' for what they wanted regardless of practicalities:rolleyes:.........so it was i was asked to cover a 'd day' comemeration in holt.....the customer explained the event would be centred around the war memorial /flag pole which is on an island flanked by roads....two of which would be closed..the other open.....asked how many ppl and where they'd be the organiser..... '100's and all around' waving enthusiastically towards the 'island ' ...i pondered:scratchhead:...i had hoped that 4 van mounted speakers broadcast would be simple/effective especially as area was relatively small....trouble was furthest point was 40m....top range really and crowds absorb sound so if the '100's' turn up it wouldn't be good enough:scratchhead:....i spy the flag pole on the island and have an idea....two lamp post brackets and i can fix speakers to that.....surround sound going at the crowd.....i could drop speaker the line back to a lampost so no trip hazard,,,,i set it up and man(y)..it was perfect:love:....radio mic and they could go virtually where they wanted:love:

i settle back for coffee and ciggie....about half an hour to go:)...ppl start turning up but it soon becomes clear that '100s' is a clear over estimate.....they're also congregating in one place.....my intial van broadcast plan woulda been fine:rolleyes:......coupla minutes before start i get a service sheet....i scan it.....OH FECK:oops:......'last post...reville'....i didn't think a that:banghead:....they're only gonna wanna lower/raise the flag:banghead:😭....the service has started...i watch in angst😭......at the dreaded time a boy scout troops out to the flag pole an attempts to lower it to the bugle 'last post'....it gets to the speaker bracket and stops😭....the boy scout tugs furiously😭...the organiser gesticulates for him stop....then ,at 'reville' signals him to raise it back up.....but the flag is stuck fast😭:bag:

peaked a bit early thursday:unsure:.....got more and more tired as day went on... then again today.....felt down/awful/ tired:(......had a sleep this afternoon and feel better......possibly the last month with the admiral and all catching up with me....i dunno:scratchhead:

SPK got as far as he can with wet room so need plumber back.....had a slight change of plan which will be more expensive but better in long run:)......tinkered with vermeer baler but heart not in it:rolleyes:.....organised a repair to cs check chain assembly.....fil got smaller field mowed/wilted/ baled + wrapped....95 bales off 7 ac which he's pleased about...i don't think i want any of it though as bales feel more silage than hay:scratchhead:

other day i sent admiral + K off to 'find peggy and check grazing marsh'....they did neither:banghead:.....so i went back and did it.....all ok plus found fresh setta twins(y) and the maize is up:oops:....gs V1....in less than a week...only trouble is sheep not fenced off it😗.....K's job sat;)

today got some culls and couples sorted for mart tommoz....cleaned/washed trailer...essential services and aforementioned sleep

better news is admiral coming on leaps/bounds.....using the frame more to get around....even did some basic cooking and washed up:love:.....i'd collapsed in a heap lunchtime....slept two hours but coming downstairs more evidence the admiral is improving...she was giving someone an ear bashing on the phone:oops:....turns out if was nfu bod phoning back in response to a 'rant' i'd sent in reply to 'minnys vlog' t'other week......she handed phone to me and i had a right good go(y)....not irrational just forthright;)...i mentioned 'wla'....'it's not an rt standard' she spluttered...'i know says i ' but where were you {nfu}?'......'err ...we were on the fence' she admitted......i told her it was time the nfu 'got off the fence'

pottered about this morning waiting for bopeep and shoes ......'puppydog' my wilt/exlana butted me over in pen:mad:...b'stard can go cull for that:mad: ....the actuator i bought for vermeer's tieing mechanism fits perfectly :love:....whether it works yet to be seen though😁

had roast lunch....was ferrying admiral up to ours when met bopeep and shoes in lane...left them to it;)......apres took admiral back and just looked in as last sheep was being finished....a ewe i'd marked to cull as barren but a developing udder has saved her😁....finished shearing though(y)

remember 'mmn' ?....new million pound neighbour.....turns out his wife has just taken a pay cut to become a judge ....anyhoo he keeps coming over trying to be friendly ffs:rolleyes:.....the other day i was having a rollie in the fox and he came up to me and asked if 'james was about'....rekon he thought i was the gardener or summat:rolleyes:......i swear he waits til he see's me come home and the nips over....NOW i'm 'not at my best'😗 when i first get home and all this 'pally pally' stuff soon gets on my nuts😗.......honestly it's degenerating into a homer simpson/ned flanders situation😁😁
