friday night....got two more loadsa straw to get off last field.....i've over bought and underestimated my storage but ,,,well,,,meh 😁 .....i've put a lot in our 'polytunel'....it was a hasty buy back in 2016 when i thought every 'proper' :scratchhead: sheep farmer had one......but it's not really been a success.....not all it's fault...being as a 'bodger' put it up 😗....well...i'll leave it to your imagination😁.....anyhoo it has a hardcore floor but the plastic doesn't last two seconds....SO ...i've been using tarps.....the first lasted quite well but they sag/split so it was replaced...not wasted though cos i cut it up and used it for temp cover whilst re roofing farmhouse....anyhoo at mo polytunnel is full o straw but 'naked' awaiting new tarp:rolleyes:

in other news the admiral is getting suspicious about the sleeping pills....i'm clinging to the subterfuge for now.....the latest incident was when the pharmacy delivered an order with no sleeping pills and she got to the bag first.....took some quick thinking/blagging to explain that:oops:.....strawbs car park construction is finally getting towards the toppa list...i ordered some stone.....gone up £120 load:oops::banghead:........but 'opportunity knocked' in the shape of flanders;)

so let me run this plan past you.....flanders' builders have a lovely heap of rubble and i mentioned to him if it was 'up for grabs';)...he said i could have it(y)but i need to be quick or it'll be skips......only trouble is the trailer i want to use is fulla rubbish waiting for me to get a skip meself :banghead:

Soo😗...i thought ....why not take my trailer and tip it into one of his skips then load the rubble up😁......mrs spin thinks thats to 'cheeky':scratchhead:.......she might be right but i'm tempted just for the laugh😁......what do my 'learned' readers reckon ?:scratchhead:
The diary from prison, might get a bit repetitive 😀

What, like …….. « today i dropped the soap again……… it’s getting less painful but I would prefer if they asked first and perhaps went one at a time, still it beats chasing sheep 🐑 « 😂 😂 😂

whatever happened to 'soap on a rope' :scratchhead: musta been a 'godsend' for those lads😁😁

saturday
decided to split remaining straw into 3 loads.....part of the road to the field is very uneven and two layers made for an 'interesting' ride:rolleyes:.....in the end i only got two loads done cos spent the afternoon spraying the stubble.....perfect doing(y)

nev came round for curry and was in good form:love:....brought me some toffee vodka as late b'day present:love:...i mentioned to him that all the motorists on my travels had been very friendly/patient/courteous:scratchhead:.........nev reckons jeremy clarkes tv series is behind it....'public love farmers cos o that' he said 'mind you i reckon you were so slow they could always get past easily'😁😁

sunday

juggling logistics to try and finish straw....retrieve smeg ......extricate flanders rubble......usual chores:rolleyes:....in the end i fell short by not getting all the rubble on account the cs was shorta back end oil and couldn't tip the grain trailer:banghead:......perhaps not a bad thing cos i turned a bit faint through not stopping for lunch.....mrs spin sat me down and forced me to eat bhuna..oh the torture😁

10:30 pigeon boss and foook foook came for some pigeon feed.....foook foook used to be on the 'bins'.....the hgv drivers were getting only £9-45/hr:oops:.....a lot left but came back when they put rate up £3/hr.....i questioned that still wasn't a fortune ...'thing is james they want to be home in their own bed every night' foook foook explained....thats fair enough TBF but kinda explains the current driver shortage

did arkwright run noon.....nabbed a coupla cans of petrol for the mule....he's a out of diesal but got a little petrol thats being rationed out to regulars.....our other garage (bp) is dry but then again it has been off/on all summer....hearing some really stupid tales:rolleyes:

saw flanders late afternoon...made me inwardly smile....'i'm absolutely whacked out through sailing all day' he said.....i forbade to reply i was exhausted through scraping round all day earning less than minimum wage:rolleyes:😁....i've been a bit hard on him though cos he was fine that i'd not cleared the rubble:).....think i'll upgrade him to 'neddy'😁

i prefer rope to straps for straw carting :bag:
Me too. I find a rope is quicker and we have two trailers still using them. Dad's "new" artic hasn't got hooks so we use straps on that but for round bales with covered edge net the straps are a pain for sliding into the valley between bales.

The kiddies would be buggered when it comes to tying a dolly😁
