so been fencing today.....moving clipex fence from northern boundary into the field so an stewardship flower plot can go into the gap created next the reservation....i'm hoping to get it done by close of play monday.....why:scratchhead:.....so i can start next job....and so it goes on...never ending:rolleyes:...in between theres a trip to mart , possibly some lambing and the usual:rolleyes:

anyway...i get to pharmacy....it's chaos....car park rammed.....road jammed.....que all up the pavement:rolleyes:.......so the admiral has green tic tacs til tuesday😗

Hang in there and try and get some rest. Livestock may be a tie but you should still have some down/free time, and you deserve it more than most.
Bon courage et bon fête 🥳

Anyone else think Bank Holidays are a pita?
Was just going to sort hoggs again 😥yesterday when get txt from mart saying no sheep market today as Bank Holiday Fri and Mon - forgot it was Good Friday 🙄, so probs have to send 2 loads next week as sheeps eating what little grass there is and want to get mooks out, could put some out tomorrow but it’s GOOD FRIDAY and the world and his mother will be out enjoying the good weather and there’s footpaths across two of the fields and mooks will probably get spooked with all the little Jonneys shouting and screaming and thinking lets pick up a stick and chase the cows cause that’ll make them run, then spend rest of weekend getting them back in and refencing only for it to happen again Monday cause it’s ANOTHER bank holiday 😩 , and wanted a tractor bit yesterday so phoned early but parts man busy will phone you back, finally calls at 4.30 ‘oh but you’ve missed today’s post’ so probably be with you next Wednesday because of the bloody Bank Holiday 😢

So he’s cutting flowers heads off to make bulbs grow bigger :scratchhead: but they say with daffs if you cut them back too soon they wont flower next year ??

Yes they cut the heads off so the bulb takes the goodness back in from stem ,or thats what mark tells us ,
they grow the bulbs in filed from say a conker size ,upto maybe inch and half maybe two ,
they are grown between two nets ,similar to net wrap , somewhere around 160 square metre , basically growing them bigger ,
then lifted graded cleaned and stored ,ready to be grown hydroponically in green houses ,
think they average 6/700,000 stems cut a week
maybe 150 acre worth of bulbs would cost towards 3 million if had to buy them from holland to be ready to go into glass houses

Because the good things (usually) outweigh the bad 😉
A farm is too quiet without the sound of bleating/baaing/mooing in background.
Because sitting on a tractor all day is actually really boring 😅
And because we'd all be worse off without your musings 👍
