longer than it used to :(....and you have to have patience cos often they go in wrong place:banghead:.....but i reckon its worth it cos it confers mood/tone etc which is hard to do in written word;)
I think the writing is grand. A space a few .....'s or a couple of line breaks would give the same - a perfectionist might go for <head wall> which everyone would understand :)

I’m looking forward to the diary of a comedy arable farmer......
I’ll start. Drilled Osr today. Had to stop and adjust hi tech specialist Osr drill (ancient Vicon supaseeder with half coulters removed) so being a safety conscious chap I turned off the pto. And yes you guessed it, failed to turn it back on. Thus I had to redrill 5acres and clean out the fan manifold.... :banghead:
@flat10
Oy! get your own thread :)

Start that thread - it will be loved. Laughing at yourself is however essential for it to be followed / read

So @spin cycle , does the writing of this ease the pain a little when you do have a disaster? I mean, I would think you would have a little moment thinking-'well, at least they will enjoy this'. It definitely helps me when my sheep are out. Ah, I think, SNOTTAGE.

TBF i havn't had any real disasters...yet....but who knows whats round the corner......when i started i didn't really think about how my little story was going to end.....that scares me sometimes

We never know..that's why we keep going right? And I meant the little <head/wall> disasters, not the really big tragedies, that's something else altogether.

ah i see:)........i wouldn't say it helps:scratchhead:....dunno really:scratchhead:....thing is whenever you read about other farmers in press etc ...like 'farmer focus' type stuff it's all 'captain fantastic farmer' etc...i fancy myself as a bit of the anti hero type...bit vain i know:whistle:

Combine Undercover Not Threshing??? :whistle::whistle::whistle:

right first up an apology to my more defined reader for my crudity :whistle:....trouble is i'm a 'lad' at heart and that was just to good to miss:love:

I wasn't trying to hijack, I'm excited for the combine harvester episode @spin cycle ........ (y)

you may be exited.....but i'm hoping for a very dull episode:D....something like....'i went down the field....then came back up....then back down again etc':)(y)

workwise it was one of those days when i had lots of little jobs i could do but didn't seem to get many done:banghead:......i did cut up one of the timbers i bought for rafters....not for the roof but for electric fence corner posts:whistle:.....i was using my late dads electric mitre saw.....except i couldn't figure out how you changed the angle:scratchhead:....i could've looked for the manual....OR....just take it to pieces till i figure it out......10 mins later it's in bits:oops:.....20 mins after that i've figured it out(y).....30 mins further on it's back together:whistle::D....stakes cut...insulators on... they're ready but more importantly come 'roofy time' i should know how to use the saw:)

caused chaos at arkwrights....mum had over ordered.....i took stuff outta the box.....now arkwright has become wise to this and gets it all packed up/tilled up before i get there in the hope i've not got the energy to argue.....not today though....out come 3 packs sugar and a swiss roll(y)...£6-36....i soften the blow by buying some baccy but confusion reigns as granville messes up till....arkwright is panicking...i'm outta the shop checking the defribrilator is still by the pub just in case:D:D

good day sport wise....canaries beet toon 3-1(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)......but cricket to tight to mention:oops:.......if england can just hang on to draw this one they may still have a chance this series....australia are pretty ordinary except for steve smith.....but could jofra be his kryptonite?.....fingers crossed:)

as i said ealier i've a mass of little jobs to do :banghead:.....try again tommoz:rolleyes:

OMG....have you seen how many new emojis there are?

hat trick (y) the lad needs to slow down, keep scoring he will be off to a big club :LOL:
we're fairly safe...last week lineker said 'pukki isn't a premier league striker' and lawrenson said ' pukki won't score 10 goals this season'....faced with such expert 'opinion' no one is going to want him :D:D.....staying with sport...good show england(y)...onto headingly(y)

right....after yesterdays 'meandering':banghead: i was determined to try to tick off some more jobs....first up though the rounds....dead ewe :rolleyes:.... my arable grass has finally perked after those two big rains of last week....brings it home how much rain you really need for decent grass growth:oops:.....had to collect up a dozen pallets for a 'domestic project' :rolleyes:......eventually got to wash down my grain trailer and my little hi tipper....rained on me whilst i did it:banghead:....sun came out when i finished:rolleyes:...tyre pressure checked(y)...ready(y)......don't know when barley'll be fit.....next weekend perhaps:scratchhead:

car chaos today :scratchhead:.......her highness is only insured on mrs spin's car....she needed that.....mrs spin and i on the van....so mrs spin took the van.....boy and i on mum's vw.....he needed that later to take cinders and himself over to fil's for b'day bbq(y)......but i needed it first to take mum to docs then i would pick up boy....he would run me to farm then i was going over in CS to cut last of fil's hay.....eventually we'd all end up at the same place(y)....that was the theory:rolleyes:...but so confident was i that i put those leccy corner posts i made in the vw along mallet ,coupla normal stakes,batt drill and those screw in insulators....boy would bring them over as i finished hay mowing then i could set out corner posts for a new fence on a hay aftermath for some store lambs(y)....next bbq:)

then it all unravels....i get over....start to cut hay....cloudburst one:oops:...WTF no mention in forecast......just about to finish.....cloudburst 2:banghead:.....bbq time changes....i realise i've left forklift outside (only got half door:whistle:).....so i decide to go back to our farm.....meet boy+cinders going opposite direction (thats ok)..... nearly home then meet mrs spin+ her highness (thats ok.....as long as they've left my van there)....course i get back to farm....no van:banghead:.....cloudburst 3.....a tile has slipped on back kitchen...water has run down felt onto wall...ingress....flood:banghead:.....i ring mrs spin to come pick me up while i mop up:banghead:....put soggy seat forklift away:banghead:.....eventually we all get back to fil's for bbq(y)......dude is coming back to ours to plant some seedlings he's put in mrs spins car....except her highness takes the car off to cuddles' for the night.....boy asks about the stakes....i tell him to put them 'on grandad's straw trailer'.....mrs spin + i come home in van with ice cream + 2 half pallets for the 'domestic project'......get home....realise about plants so we unload van and mrs spin sets off to retrieve:rolleyes:.....boy,dude and i start 'domestic pallet project'....'oh i need the batt drill....can you (to boy) get it from vw?'.....'oh no...i left it on grandad's straw trailer':cry::cry::cry:......i retire for rollie but mrs spin has left my 'stash' but no lighter:banghead::banghead:......NOW this is important...if you value your nostril hair....NEVER use a creme brulee torch to light a rollie:inpain::inpain:
