up in soggy ayrshire maybe m8.....not down in the arid east :)
Have you tried? 2 ton of bucket plus the downforce of the forklift is a lot of push on a 3 inch square. I take your point about the rainfall though, I can remember fencing in Essex 30 years ago in a dry summer and we had to pinch a bit, pour water down the hole, pinch it out fully then fill with water so we could mell the stab in.......

went and got the trailer pipe fixed and got some other hydraulic bits to try and work the post knocker off aux supply on forklift....but can't get it to work:scratchhead:....the engineer is in briston.....sprawling norfolk village which is a bit of conundrum....
If it is the old boy in the nissen hut through a hole in the hedge on the right hand side at the end of a lane, we get all our rams refurbed there. Brilliant place.

We went there for a ram, I wondered where the hell satnav was taking me.
It was fantastic. A proper old fashioned Oly rag place which are sadly few and far between now!

yup thats the place (y) ...used to do all my repairs/fabrication.....stop using them cept for hydraulics cos they were always so busy....but jnr said things 'bit quiet' so better start using them again;)....valuable ppl:)

more of the same today really....central heating seems fine(y)...SOoo unreliable though....still thinking about changing it:scratchhead:....charlies trailer may 'have been a credit to him' but she's on different 'turf' now😁....slight mishap whilst towing with strap behind post knocker:bag:....ahhh who needs a handle on the jockey wheel anyway 😁

still playin around with the post knocker....might be able to work single handed:scratchhead:.....TBH the only person who 'understands' or 'puts up with' my fencing methodology is nev:)...he tolerates my bodginess and retreats willingly into the most uncut hedge as i back further into it😁,,,,cept he's been really poorly:(...i plan to cheer him up (and get him back on board) with a 'full service' voucher for istanbul barbers naam when he's feeling better;)😁...actually i wonder if i could buy one then get second half price cos weeta's b'day coming up:scratchhead:

congrats again to @Norfolk Hill Farmer for topping cull ewes at mart again...lads on hatrick😁

really good day today (y) ....no interruptions and my various little post knocker dodges came together and i got a very respectable line of posts up(y)...mind you felt like a good circuit trainer:rolleyes:....on/off tractor....loading posts etc:rolleyes:.........of course i've saved the money on a contractor....i'd messaged a lad friday teatime who'd advertised on faceache a post knocking service with petrol knocker....he messaged back it was his lad's birthday just then and could i ring him after weekend.....now i may be a terrible father and have poor work life balance BUT ,to me, he as someone setting out won't get far with that attitude ...lads b'day maybe but shutting up shop for weekend is no good IMO....in this instance i'd schemed a solution in the meantime

public don't get us farmer folk....what we do is mostly all consuming....at least it is to me trying to keep a little farm afloat....if you don't ,on the whole, enjoy and get satisfaction doing it you'll sink anyway.....resta world looks at us as mad.....i think their aspirations often don't amount to sipping the next bottle of prosseco .....they'll pay for gym membership but look at us labouring as mad :scratchhead:

right i'm stiffening up (and not in a good way:facepalm:).....time for a after 'workout' bath😁

Top thread this (y)

...comedy, entertainment and now philosophy :woot:

Can't beat a bit o' philosophy - Confucius, he say, "Man who eats meat and pees on the same plate is unhygienic." (sadly, it doesn't work very well as a joke, when you see it written down :banghead: )............

thursday.....not a good day :( ....had to 'read the riot act' to the admiral.....she's not been looking after herself as well as she could:rolleyes:.....i've been booking baths at local centre then ,come the day, i find out she's cancelling them.....citing depression as the reason she can't go:banghead:

friday....much to my relief she complies(y) and agrees to keep future ones...fingers crossed:rolleyes:...after morning chores i took her down....i waited while she was in but she wasn't long(y)

amazingly we had rain early morning:love:...woke me up at 5am...i dozed and listened to it:love:.....only slight problem was i've still got yorkies last hay delivery standing out so ,with weather seemingly, on the change i cleared out part of the lambing shed....dry overnight then salt and get hay undercover(y)

langham bluebell re opened today...m'uad dib organised a '6' and i made the cut:oops:....almost forgot😗.....but had really good laugh ......forced to 'eat my words' (i proclaimed all pub food around here overpriced and shite)......had a 'brisket burger'....tenner...and blimey it was good:love:

m'uad dib steered the conversation onto my sheep farming exploits (others in group are/have connections to farming).....5 years since i switched from arable.....i said one reason i switched was to be rid of RT and i'd rather scrub bogs than go back....the arable farmer stated he'd rather scrub bogs than keep livestock....'different strokes':)

Ps I read that holkham might not be renewing the lease on the harbour railway at Wells. I recon you and Yorkie could work a deal to run a horse drawn landue carriage service along the harbour like Yarmouth, you could put yorkies new hoss to good use, you could be driver (what could go wrong) and you could have the pick up and drop off point right beside your ice cream cart so the punters all buy a 99 while they're waiting!!!!👌😁
