we have just changed the joystick but it will not do what it should , it booms out when it should come in , i think its electrical somewhere , any ideas folks

Piston seal on the ram?
If piston seal fails ram turns single acting and will only want to push out,

Thanks for the reply , we have spent a fortune on new hydraulic pipes and ever since the front forks go down without notice
