just got my latest load of derv (certas), this time with machinery running you can really smell the bio derv in if, also it will be summer derv and it will last me till next summer so will want some anti gel additive in it at least for winter to stop it waxing up, what does everyone use and where from?

I`ve found the small print on some additives that I`ve been told stop waxing does NOT even mention it. My advice is make certain that what you buy WILL work - I`ve been caught out twice in the last two years. On one occasion it was supposed to be an anti-wax additive at 1l to 1000 l of diesel - mixed at proper rate and just did not work. Terrible nuisance when stock need feeding . I`ll NEVER understand why it can`t always be winter spec. especially when we`re told to empty tank between batches to help prevent "bug" problems .
Unless there`s a good reason for not doing it I feel it should all be winter spec. and I actually think the NFU should try to put pressure on the industry to sort the job out.

jut put 100l of kero in the tank for winter derv

Tier 4 emissions engines don't like that!!!!

As said already, stanadyne or marine 16 if you've already got black diesel bug.

The additive that Deere brand is also very good.

Gone are the days of adding a gallon of petrol to the tank of the old zetor in the winter :ROFLMAO:
How do you think winter diesel is made in the refinery...higher percentage of kerosene...

There’s a minor fuel penalty economy running with winter grade over summer grade fuel.

Shell GTL gas synthesised fuel is all season, and much better all round than red or derv but it still comes at too much of a price penalty to be a straight swap unless you live with cooee of a Certas depot that stocks it.

Stanadyne. Tend to buy it in 5 litres tins, from local TNS depot. Not exactly cheap though.

Are you still getting it in 25 litre cans @Qman ?

The last lot of Stanadyne I bought was from Marsh's at Markham Moor in a 20 litre can. I have googled Stanadyne and can't find any other places for the 20 litre cans.

How much are your 5 litre cans Farmergrum? I might get a few cans.

Telling people to put kerosene into modern tractors is bad advice, no wonder there are so many problems if folk do this. Since the sulphur has been removed there isn't enough lubricity when you dilute red with kero.

I never found stanadyne fuel product much good had loads of injectors problems when using it but got introduced to Deutz fuel product and now I have zero problems with injectors
Deutz fuel product is way better than all the rest in my opinion and is way cheaper to buy than stanadyne

It was a John Deere tractor dealer that introduced me to Deutz fuel conditioner and when he was telling me how good it was I thought he was full of it did not believe it (anyhow starting using it and have no more injector problems

Not sure if you meant to tag @Farmergrum

I’ve only seen 5 litre cans via Sparex dealers....
