I have recently heard of two tractors catching fire, and the cause is thought to be to doing with some thing happening when the particulates are being burnt off.The makes of tractor were a Case and a New Holland ( yes I know they are basically the same tractors).
Has the above been known to happen on other makes of tractors.

We had this happen on a JD6215 last summer. Front topper on front. We used airline on it every morning. Every few months would take exhaust guards off to blow out. But the seat of the fire was around the injection point around the front of the cab under plates. Fire brigade here in under six minutes and saved most of the tractor. It's taken six months to get back and still throwing up fault codes. Would have been easier for it to burn out the tractor.

The trouble is ,no matter how hard you try keeping these things clean there's always a stray bit of straw or grass bound to get wedged in there, and the temperatures these things get up to to burn the particulates out are anywhere from 800° + Then alot of manufactures install them under the cab so as not to impair vision,so if there is the starting of a fire when sitting on the seat it's difficult to see & often to late to intercept it
