diesel quad

You won't need a budget, someone will come along and give YOU money to take a diesel quad off their hands.

I would be very cautious on what you buy/get gifted!

The Polaris diesel bike was an absolute nail.

Personally I'd go UTV if diesel was the only option.

Arctic cat diesel/Massey ferguson diesel quads are reasonable! Have had ours for 9 years and no major problems, not the speed of a petrol but certainly heaps of torque and fuel efficiency!!

Had artic cat diesel for about 5 years now, and I'd have another. Never been a problem to us. Uses naff all fuel. Reliable.
Slower than the petrols, which if I'm honest is a good thing. Stops people being a loon on it.
Does about 50 / 60 km/h on concrete, less on grass. More than enough for me.
Tows a trailer no problem
Handles slug pelleter easily
Runs on red and uses about 1/3 of the fuel of a petrol quad as well.

Game keepers hated the Polaris diesel, because any poachers could hear it coming from miles away!
They could even hear it start up from outside his house.
It was so slow that the poacher could roll a fag, pack up his gun, go home a brew a cup of tea, before the gamekeeper got to where he was poaching!
