We have an ingersoll rand diesel road compressor but have a cooling problem. Should the engine fan draw air across the engine and PUSH it through the radiator ie the oppsi to a standard vehicle or should it PULL air through the radiator?
I have a feeling the fan is not correct as it looks as if someone has fitted a newer fan at some point and that’s why it is maybe getting hot. H fan doesn’t look quite right.
im leaning towards the PUSH option as on a building site it wouldnt be pulling so much dust etc through the radiator
turning the fan around is not an option so I can’t try it easily you can get fans that are either pusher or puller types
any help would be great, I don’t know anyone else with one to start up and try, I presume all are the same setup, I know they don’t like running with the hoods up as they can overheat according to the manual.
