Diesel Road compressor help

We have an ingersoll rand diesel road compressor but have a cooling problem. Should the engine fan draw air across the engine and PUSH it through the radiator ie the oppsi to a standard vehicle or should it PULL air through the radiator?

I have a feeling the fan is not correct as it looks as if someone has fitted a newer fan at some point and that’s why it is maybe getting hot. H fan doesn’t look quite right.

im leaning towards the PUSH option as on a building site it wouldnt be pulling so much dust etc through the radiator

turning the fan around is not an option so I can’t try it easily you can get fans that are either pusher or puller types

any help would be great, I don’t know anyone else with one to start up and try, I presume all are the same setup, I know they don’t like running with the hoods up as they can overheat according to the manual.

I have an atlas copco with deutz oil cooled diesel with pusher fan.
Turning the fan around will have no effect on air flow.

No a liquid cooled Perkins engine.
Is the oil level in the compressor itself up to the max level? Our old one baffled us,ran warm on a frosty day, even put new thermostat and water pump on it,did a full service on it and it never ran warm again,no idea was there oil filter blocked for the compressor and was causing resistance etc or was the oil just low and a bit old in the compressor 🤷‍♂️

Air filter is new too. We’ve tried everything we can think of but these compressors seem to be very complicated but if kit unless they are running spot on?

Although oil filter for compressor bit wasn’t genuine as no longer available but a good quality after market make. Same with the oil, Morris brand oil for compressor.

I think it’s the fan as not much air is being moved at all and radiator seems to be hot first. Radiator is clean on the outsides too.

thank you for the help so far

@Sparkplug could you post a photo of the fan and which way it rotates to help me identify mine is wrong. It’s a bit complicated but I think I’ve got it in my head what it should be like but a photo would be much appreciated
