Difference between T2 & T3 7480.

I stand to be corrected, I thought on the 6480s the "square nose" Perkins were the shortest, followed by the "round nose" Perkins, and then the Sisi ones were the longest of the 3?

Remember alister alexander tellin me that t2 7480 had same vario as fendt 716 and t3 7480 had same vario as fendt 415 which is smaller/lighter duty vario. So id tend to go for the t2 plus they seem more handy with the smaller bonnet

Anybody had both? @Spud

Not had both, but had a few. T2 Perkins 7480, T2 Sisu 7490&95. T3 Perkins 6480 & T3 Sisu 6490 . T4? Addblue cobblers Sisu in 7618&20.

Tier2 engine nothing special, t3 & Sisu more refined & more powerful. Tier 2 suspension very good, but Tier3 6480 is like driving an armchair, the ride is excellent, every bit as good as a 76. If yours is crap replace the shockers, it cured our 6480.
Tier 3 looks more modern, easier access on a 3 too. T2 is a good lump cheaper, but they're old now really. DTM not a major plus, or hasn't been to us. T3 will tend to be higher spec. Data 3 better than Data 2 by some margin - changeover was 55plate iirc.
Injectors in a Perkins t3 expensive - £290 each. T2 iirc were about £150 each, Sisu (should you ever need any, I havent) are £90 each. T3 a bit more poke than a Sisu, but I guess a sympathetic remap would sort that. 7618 is a beast, so I guess its set up different to a 7480. Not driven a sisu 80 myself, just understand from others that they're a bit flat.

Did 6000 hrs on 2008 7480 perkins t3 great tractor to drive. But had 2 sets of injectors in that time.....buy a sisu powered one. All our main tractors now have sisu engines. 17000hrs beteen them no engine issues.

I'd agree. 25,000hrs experience on six Sisu engined tractors here with 38,000 hours between them and zero engine issues bar two water pumps.
The one tier 3 Perkins had a set of injectors (at £290 each plus fitting) before it reached 5000hrs. Neighbours tier3 6480 had a set at similar hours too, but tier2 6480 before it was fine.
