Has any one on here used 3cx buckets on a NH backhoe? Wanted to hang a gate today so took my 9inch bucket with me. We’ve used this bucket on 655 and 655C etc backhoe. Fitted on dads NH 75 this morning, first bucket full and it ripped the banana links between dipper and dipper ram clean off catapolting the brocken part against the side of a shower block!!

Had to quickly repair them and re fit then study and measure the linkages etc. Pin centres is roughly 50mm less than the two closer together holes on the Ford and N/H buckets but the link is not stressed during full arc of the bucket. As I said, been ok on Ford machines so could be completely un related but any one with a NH machine, be carefull. This was the temp repair and 16mm round bar wrapped around it.

I thought I was being ripped off with those wheel studs at 19+vat! And approx £5 per nut. Stupidly ordered them from dealer without checking the price [emoji849][emoji849]

I know where there's a Ford 655 being broken. I don't know if they want to take little bits off yet. I'm hoping to buy a 12" bucket if he has one.

Made some 'new' pins for my 'new' buckets out of old hydraulic rams.

Has anyone ever stripped the extradig bit out on a New Holland 85? Mine has an oil leak in there somewhere :(

Not done a NH version but it seems to be a much easier job than the older Fords, the old 655C we had burst the pipe for the extending ram, it was attached to the ram inside, not easy at all to get to as it was a reversed system with the outside sliding diwn.

I’m sure but would have to check that you only need to knock the pin out for the piston end of cylinder, maybe remove a stop or the wear pads and bottom half should slide right off.

Not sure they will be the right material, I had some made and the guy had great difficulty getting the right stuff (he tested the old one on a grinder), they dont bend, they snap like carrots. This was on a 550, the later 655c and NH are thicker.

Thanks. It's locked out at the moment but is something I need to be looking at soon.

EN8 but not case hardened. It's the right stuff.
