anyone got experience of the rakes to fit on diggers for landscaping , has any one made there own ?

loads on ebay ,never used one but look handy for gathering roots up or big rocks

A friend has a homemade rake that bolts onto ditching bucket, made from square bars about 4" long and roughly 3" apart. Works really well as you can rake in to a pile and load without changing bucket.

that was quick, have seen those but get a bit expensive when looking for any thing bigger , have tried to hire but nothing local.

What size machine

had a 8 ton jcb on hire and none of the local hire firms had any thing for hire to fit this machine or smaller machines and that when I thought about getting something made up to fit my fermec back hoe

I've got a 60" reed bucket, which work in a similar way, but has an edge so you can still dig and scrape with it, but has about 13 of 1/2" thick tines spaced so can be used to sift like a riddle bucket. Depends what you want to do with it.

I have one on my Volvo.made out of a 600mm length of 4 x2 box and got 7 tines made out of amazone ke power Harrow blades.i use it a lot.use it on site work for levelling and getting gardens sorted.can dig with it too surprisingly.great for sorting rubble and rubbish from soil.i was not sure it would work when I made it but it's great.ive worn an inch of the end of the blades in the ten years I've had it so you can see it gets lot of use.also good for moving trees,branches etc.

It does a good job but the gaps were a bit wide so I welded some more bar in between, does a better job now.

We have one and use it a lot for clearing up after tree felling. Saves a lot of manual fork work.

unfortunately I don't think my 14 tonner would fit in the polytunnel.

I've got rake buckets, for the 3,8 & 22 tonners, like a ditching/grading bucket shape, but made of plates 75mm apart, so it's a rake and a sort of riddle bucket as well. They work really well as you can pick things up easily.
Not the best pick of it, but the only one I can find.
The last two were from Vemac engineering, and were verg good value I thought, 8tonner one was about £450 iirc, but I'd give Evans & Reid a call also, as I've had very good service from them. Once you've got one it's surprising what you end up using it on
