Digger thumb

thinking of add a thumb to my 5 ton Terex digger. give it a few more uses and would make it handy to stack logs/wood etc...

they easy to fit?

Although I'd been leaning towards either a fixed log grab like this sort of thing,

My thinking being that if you want a thumb to work with your ordinary buckets then you'd want to be able to pull it back out of the way as far as possible for other work.

A fixed thumb with ordinary buckets would be considerably simpler and cheaper though if it worked well.

Hope you don't mind me watching you as a guinea pig!

This is exactly the thing I am looking to purchase for my 4 5t yanmar. It seems to be a much better tool in my opinion. It would make clearing stuff and stacking a doddle. Can't do it for the time being as I have had to spend out on a new dirty water pump. The toys will have to wait.

No it's more similar to clutch foot

My understanding is that with a non hydraulic thumb there is only one sweet spot. You have to set the thumb and bring the bucket in to it, rather than other way round.

I have that sort of thumb, it has 3 fixed points but you do have to pick one when you start, sod to fit on though on your own as the thumb is heavy to line the pis up with one hand.

It is brilliant though.
