Small budget in Dingwall yesterday, but very happy with purchases

Pair of shearlings from Eilean Darroch, very natural, well bred sheep, smarter fellow is at the back but could not get him to run in front!

2 shear from the keppoch pen, tidy boy with a great skin and length.

After an expensive day in Lairg, these took my average down to £580 for 6 bought this year, can’t complain, and perfect mouths on every one of them, which is a big bonus this year with a restrictions at sales.

On the hill and Bfl on the Cheviots on the low ground is what I was told. An absolute sin . It’s easy to sit in an office and make figures work. Totally different on a sleety day in April lambing them.

was actually up for a spin up strath of kildonan and down the other side to Lairg today. Kinda suited seeing the blackies in the hills. Breaks the monotony of cheviots 🙈🙈

I had it that they were going to put a portion of the Cheviots to the aberfield, as they received such poor prices for their ewe and wedder lambs this year, and are thinking this will sort the problem. Tbf if they never made a decent price for the lambs this year then there must be a problem

Doubt the Blakie wethere will out sell Cheviots unless they were really bad
