Who plunge dips before lambing? How late do you go? Get any lambs cast as a result?

Had to dip pre scanning here after scab outbreak in area. Didn’t stress them too much, and had no problems in the long run.

I have no experienced doing it but surely it can’t be anymore stressful than shearing pre lambing?

Plunge dipping done correctly shouldn't be too stressful at any time. The harding and time off feed is likely to be more stressful than the actual dipping.

There shouldn't be any issues, but if possible, put dry sheep through the tub first, to warm the water up a bit.

I dip sheep at all stages of pregnancy, there is always a risk when handling inlamb ewes what ever job you do with them however ive never had any issues post dipping. Hope that helps.

I had to do a good sized batch of mule ewes one year that were due in April dipped them in mid March. We just went steady with them had no bother with them slipping lambs.
Just go canny drop them in steady they will be fine
