Basically as title is there a drill that will sow bith grasseed and griwn that could be used to sow whole crop into older grass before a reseed.

Other method I'm thinking is a short disc and sow but want to move less soil to disturb less weeds.

On farm is electric spinner, grassed box power harrow and plough spring tine Harow etc

Perhaps this is the wrong section.

Don't know of any in NI. Probly should add secondhand would do but open to suggestions of which do both and any trials people have done or know off. Might not be worth it.

Bought an Erth Agriseeder this year. Used it for sowing a herbal ley, legumes into grass, AB9 direct into last year's residue, reseeding, sowing wheat, stitching in thin bits of wheat. Has worked well to be fair. Well made, extremely low disturbance, 12.5cm spacing, simple Accord metering, no control box required.

I imagine the price has gone up in the last 6 months, and I can't remember exactly. But early to mid 20s region, with that larger cereal hopper. They are a grant eligible item, if that is relevant.

I have seen photos of a trailed model, although I wanted a mounted one anyway for maneuverability.

McCord Machinery can't be far from you, they have new Moore Unidrills available from stock and were running a demo unit a month or so back I believe?

Have had a chat about the moore, most are mounted and in fairness to him he did mention the weight and handling of the machine. This might cause an issue, however i might take a look he has one comming in which is secondhand and and priced reasonable to new. we wont be doing alot but i would like to possibly do a bit of whole crop.

Also spoke to erth and will go there for a look too remeber their first one at a show and one is working loacally too. Very forward thinking and moving company.

I’ve done it before with the Horsch co 4 drill and Simba free flow 4meter and also a Krause direct drill .drilled straight into old grass leys with no problems. I do not do any drilling now so can’t be up-to-date too much how .all my land is contract farmed now.
