Was advise by seed merchant to wait 14 days after roundup to drill the kale. What are other folks opinions on how long to wait? Just the lack of moisture could be problem in 14 days.

Assuming you’re drilling into sprayed off pp(?), straight away, or wait a few weeks. The ‘problem’ comes from old pp thatch/root mat causing local acidity as it dies & breaks down, which effects germination. If you spray & DD straight away, the seedlings should have germinated before that acidity becomes a (temporary) issue. Alternatively, wait a few weeks after spraying, so that temporary acidity has subsided a bit.

Given the weather & time of year, i’d Spray & drill now, assuming you have soil moisture currently.
