Now that does worry me. Sounds like it needs/needed another good check.@rob1 my ww is now being caught up by the regrowing red clover. Looks ok to me but combine driver is worried. I guess the straw will make some good round bale silage
thats why I will be trying a patch to see how it goes,I need to find some really prostrate white clover which shouldnt grow too tall, well thats the plan Oh and not plant it near any roads@rob1 my ww is now being caught up by the regrowing red clover. Any chance of a pic or two please?Walked it today, wheat is ahead again, perhaps foot and a half taller than clover. So perhaps it will be ok if stubble cut long- combine will handle a bit of green and most clover will stay below cutter bar.
Thanks, much appreciated.I'll pop back tomorrow and get a selection. I think i posted some early ones in a 'wheat after grass' thread but can't quite remember which.View attachment 357612
This is 19th November as emerging. Left is tine . Right is disc drilled
The crop looks happy enough with the clover under it. It would be interesting to use VR N and see the satellite imaging.View attachment 358628Coffer cup for scaling. Dog got lost in crop.
Very nice
What did you end up doing with your grass leys in the endI have some fields coming out if grass this autumn. They are really thick with clover, was a mix or italian and prg in there too.
Chalk will be applied as needed, I intend to go wheat as the rest of the block is due for wheat so want to keep it simple.
drill Mid September or later?
