Direct drilling with a rapid ?

Half thinking of changing my drill, I have an amazone AD303 box drill on a kg 3000 special, Im based in Ireland in an area there is not much tillage. I was debating going for a rapid, I was talking to a dealer today and he said they find it easier get deeper in the ground as the coulters have more weight pressure on them than the spirit. The way the grant systems are changing i think everyone will probably have to have a small amount of land in direct drilling. I know they are not the ideal tool for this but would a rapid work as a direct drill lets say for just 40-60 acres ? I was thinking if you had hydraulic discs at the front and lift them and just have your Coulter’s for seed placement. I hear they are not great for slot closure but surely not too bad as the wheel follows ? Or could you ring roll ground to encourage slot closure? What I’m saying is probably completely wrong but just want to keep my options open and getting a few notions this evening
