Has anyone ever tried drilling linseed straight into stubble with a horsch pronto drill? Not that there is much chance at the moment but reckon I have more chance later than ploughing the field first. Cheers

If there is a lot of chopped straw then n lock up could be an issue
it was with me in 2013
the other issue is fleabeetle in 2013 we had chinook
in 2018 we did not and it got murdered so the faster it gets going the better they get it under ground before you can get spray on

How much pressure can you put on the discs? That drill is designed to work in cultivated soil and will has no design for closing the slot on untilled ground. By all means try a dry run after a few dry days to see what the slots look like, but I would scratch the top couple of inches to help it get started in some tilth.

I was hoping the front discs on the drill would give me enough tilth??
