Mzuri Drilled HSS Planet @ 250kg/ha with 300 kg/ha of 17.0.30 down the front leg. Drilled into Oat cover crop grazed off in March, drilled 11th April. Top dressed with 300 kg/ha of Piamon at emergence.
Crop has emerged nice and even. Shame there was problems with the fert tank on the strip till machine- we couldn't place fert under the crop. When we tried it six years ago we felt it went hungry until the rain washed in the broadcast nitrogen. But this time we did catch a shower so hopefully will keep growingPlanting maize into the zones the Stripcat made eight days ago. Fingers crossed View attachment 797604View attachment 797606
Conventional as in ploughed? The no till half is a more even compare the conventional side. No till came up a week slower but has caught up in the last week. Our first go at no till so surprised with the results.
This field is part of a Thames water sensitive water catchment field lab. Trialling no till vs conventional methods along side water courses, specifically phosphorus run off
