How easy is it to calibrate that metering system?
Not as hard as you might think
The squeaking you can hear is a siren attached to a reed switch, responding to magnets placed on the wheel.
As long as the operator has put down 3 seeds every time they hear the chirp, it works out to 1 seed per row every 80cm.
At 1.2m row spacing that's pretty much 1 plant per square metre

Photo 6 is interesting, the shot is taken looking up the headland and standing on the headland tramline, which is very difficult to spot. This field has not had any form of cultivation for 5 years, not even the straw rake and the headland has always been the headland for years, yep looks like it's bugge*d I'll have to get the subsoiler out.
Before I subsoiled, I'd try a year drilling with my KV time drill.
Headlands always seem ok drilled with that.

Spring Barley drilled the 26th March, Sumo Dts, after stubble turnips, previous crop being wheat with the intention of putting in a 2nd wheat after grass in December/Jan but it was just to wet. First spring with the Dts having purchased a used 4 meter in January. Very impressed. Mid Dorset.

Spring Barley after rape due to the field being heavy and the wheat never being drilled unfortunately.
