Late May. Was an experiment to see if I could save seed from it, as it's quite pricey.
Ended up as a maize maze type attraction for our PYO instead. It didn't like the cold, dull start to life, so I'll probably try again next year and see if it matures any faster
Did it receive any inputs? It would be fun trying to get all that material through a combine, or even some of it!! Thanks

There was a fair bit of N leftover from previous cropping, perhaps 100kg. Otherwise nothing at all except 15kg/ha seed.
I think it could be a useful component of a cover drilled in July, behind winter barley or OSR perhaps. But with new seed at £3.50 a kg it doesn't stack up for me unless I can save my own.
