Disabling metal detector on Claas chopper

Does anyone know how to disconnect the metal detection system on a 900-830 Jaguar Claas chopper. I have heard people have done it but I never heard how. And my mechanic will not do it because of liability issues. It has caused more trouble than it has helped. Thank you in advance.

One of ours we had to replace the detector mechanism inside the feed roll, it was stopping the machine over nothing

Don't do it. If you pick up a length of wire you could chop it into a million bits and be killing cows all winter.

Yeah, this. I seen an electric fence in a swath once. How the f**k the mowers didn't notice, or the tedder, or the rowing up guy I don't know.... contractors and a case of 'not my job?'

I can't bear to see litter or metal in a field, even when I was agronomising I would pick up anything foreign if I found it. Found a perfect pair of surgical scissors once, edges were still keen, too. All in tact and barely a scratch on em.
