Disappointed with new trailer

Bought a brand new Ifor Williams 12' triaxel cattle trailer earlier this year, got it delivered about a month ago so next morning took 4 heifers on a fifteen mile journey and as I was washing out found that the front headboard had bowed outwards.
Since then we've been using our old trailer and the new one has been stood waiting for a response from Ifor which basically said it was not a warranty issue due to it being in their view "abnormal cattle behaviour"

Bit disappointed when our old trailer is 6 year old and still straight. Feel like keeping the old trailer and sending the new one back as it clearly isn't as well built but don't want to fall out with the local dealer.

has the cross member bowed or just the plate come away ,why they lap them that way i don't know would have thought the top plate would have been over the bottom ,did you steam clean it on full setting this can buckle the ali plate but it should go back

Why worried about falling out with local dealer he obviously doesn't seem to worried about you either , it time we started to kick up a bit more of a stink about faulty products we buy ,they cost us enough , cripres if boot was on other foot ii would be swinging !
What way did you buy fiance ? Get on to them
Start sending them bills for hire of trailer , due to faulty goods

Your contractual agreement is with who you bought it from - ie the local dealer. Take as many photos as you can and send all this in a formal complaint in writing to the dealer. If its on finance then I think you have some help there as its new and not fit for purpose.

You have 21 days for a legal in writing reply (check this???) if all fails you take it to the financial ombudsman cc the finance company. Honestly dont pee around you paid a lot of money for this and flippant statements are not professional. If you know of a good engineering company that would do a report on this - be cheeky take it to a competitor. You can also take legal action but this is costly. But worth speaking to your solicitor who should give you advice - if not NFU or CLA provide good advice. Get your facts right then take it further in the correct manner.

How open are you to be nailed by a company if you posted pictures of such on say Twitter /Facebook asking if other people have had such a fault and tag the company ?

They love social media for promoting themselves just wondering if they would appreciate a further helping hand ....!

Tbh I don't even know if above company is on these sites just thinking aloud

I think you may be vulnerable to litigation for damage caused through malicious posts if you have not followed a reasonable procedure and time frame that allows the other side to respond and /or help...............

In this case, I don't see any issues as the supplier has made his decision, as long as young bull has made it clear he is not happy and Ifor has decided to do nothing.

My advice is always be careful what you post, naming and shaming could be a dangerous pastime...........

I would like to know what classes as ' abnormal behaviour '

My ifor must be 15 years old and hasn't done that. Must have shifted thousands of cattle in its time.

So it's bloomin unlucky to bend one with 4 hfrs behaving abnormally on its first outing.
I too would be interested in Ifor Williams description of ' abnormal behaviour '.
