Changed my D4 for a D5 in December,D4 was a great car, wasn't as convinced with the D5 to start with but really like it now, still not sure on the back end though, had to get the towbar lowered on our trailer though as the deployable hitch is a bit low.Old one was not short on grunt but current one is tremendous (306 bhp)slightly better on fuel as well, visiblity not as good at the front end but you get used to it.

No complaints here, no, they’re not going to handle like a car but streets ahead of the D4, handles very much like a RRS

2 people I know who have them regret getting them, one the windscreen leaked and the windscreen wipers flew off
The other the transmission died, but this is only 2, I’m sure there are plenty of happy purchasers

I’ve a RR S now and thinking of changing soon I’ve got my name down on a Defender but could change it for a Disco 5 . Swap things around a bit and sell run around use RRS for work and keep Disco for best letting and let Mrs use it she liked the Disco 4 more than RRS

To be honest i wouldn't say theres much difference, its still a big vehicle, wife has an X5 and it would leave the disco standing going round the bends.
There different types of big 4x4s .
Top gear did a review on 4x4s and the crux of it was x5 q7/8 Porsche 4x4 thing etc are cars built for the road with a limited off road capability whereas Land Rover build off road cars which are very capable on road.
RRS would be more of a match up to the X5

Exactly, discovery more of an all rounder, although it's not the best off road on standard tyres.

We have one and like it, no bother to date, drove a customers D4 home from a job the other night and tbh doesn’t handle like my D5 and is a mile behind internally. Never towed with it yet but I guess it won’t be as stable at the D4 being a lot lighter but it’s averaging nearly 30 which is good for our type of miles ( our dmax does 22 ) but haven’t really had it long enough for a comprehensive opinion.

I specced mine with the Dynamic Stability Control, not a clue how it works but its meant to firm up the suspension similar to the RRS on the road
