In this day and age the technology to permanently disable these units when they are stolen has to be available. What are you expecting them to do about it?
It’s a bit unfair to say it’s only jd that are guilty of this, plenty of non jd systems have gone missing in this part of the world! I suspect it’s mor a case there is more jd systems about so more chances of one going missing.
Newer models it’s built into the tractor so not so easy to remove.
I agree with you , and I think the same about members of many developing countries. Some may not have had much school education, but they make do and mend , and teach themselves how many things work that I personally wouldn’t have a clue how to fix or get working.I don't think people give these Eastern European's enough credit. Do you really think they phone JD tech support to get these things working?
Some of those boys out there will know more about it than JD themselves

The dealer can log into your screen and watch you go up and down a field but they can’t retrieve stolen Gps equipment.... doesn’t make sense does itAs above, appalling as JD dealerships only too keen to take your finance when you buy a tractor etc from them.
The same applies to all machinery manufacturers.
Also dealers make a profit out of supplying replacement units
Best solution is to do what Apple do with find my iPhone. And then lock the deviceThe best solution is to make receivers quick release, no hassle to remove them when not in use.
I mean I’m no technological expert but I’m pretty sure in the world of telematics… JD link all that rubbish It should be very bloody easy…. Farmer rings police “my GPS has been stolen” … then he rings his JD dealer “can you tell me where my GPS dome is please?”…. JD dealer gives an exact grid reference for where in the world the JD dome is… farmer then rings police and says “here you are lads this is where my JD dome is that got stole a few hours ago”… police go and retrieve and arrest the robbersWhat are you expecting them to do about it?
