Unless the tractor is taken as well the equipment will have no power source so how would you expect it to transmit? You’ll say the could put a battery in it, but the thieves are smart enough they would just take the battery out
That should be the trigger to fry it after a short delay. Theft would drop like a stone.

I’m sure the clever men at JD could make it happen some way or another the world we live in there’s no way it’s impossible they just don’t want it too be possible

I mean I’m no technological expert but I’m pretty sure in the world of telematics… JD link all that rubbish It should be very bloody easy…. Farmer rings police “my GPS has been stolen” … then he rings his JD dealer “can you tell me where my GPS dome is please?”…. JD dealer gives an exact grid reference for where in the world the JD dome is… farmer then rings police and says “here you are lads this is where my JD dome is that got stole a few hours ago”… police go and retrieve and arrest the robbers 🤷🏻‍♂️
Cannock police couldn't and wouldn't do that with an electric fencer unit, that they themselves had supplied with a tracker fitted. WTAF?

The way to stop the thefts would be make them more affordable to buy I’m sure it doesn’t cost £2500 for example to make a receiver, then make the money on the unlocks and have them Pin protected to the purchaser

So every time we remove the receiver at night it would fry itself. Fantastic.

Just take the kit out at night and lock them in the office- end of problem!

Can only speak for my busy part of Colorado but countryside crime is very low to non.
Law enforcement is there if needed and you will often see sheriff or deputies driving the country roads, this in a large valley with a population of around 50,000 on 2 major highways.
You have a better deterrent over there though Mr............The gun :) . You only have to wave a BB gun at the scrotes here and they start crying about mental torture and PTSD and the gun waver will end up coming worse off unfortunately :(

I have thought about getting some one with a 3d printer to make a different coloured dome with post code name etc molded in to the plastic. If it was possible. And maybe some sort of tracker molded in as well

Is it not an issue at all there?

err, we have very strict gun laws & would certainly end up in gaol if we started waving weapons around or threatening to shoot people, but I have to say I have NEVER heard of GPS units being stolen here. Large arable area, just about every machine or tractor has some form of autosteer in it. I’ve had one AM /FM radio stolen out of a cab about 20 years ago, but as I say, never even heard rumours about gps units
