Always makes me smile when I see footage of a massive chipper burning diesel to chip huge logs into a large bulk lorry, which will then burn more diesel to cart it to a power station, where it will be burnt to produce 'green' energy. Makes it even more green if it has to have a boat ride across 3000 miles of the Atlantic in between of course..............

Ireland subbing farmers to come over here buying fodder, wales wanting to do the same, while at the same time our goverments subbing burning and mulching it. Its green energy in name only, utter farce.

I cannot see how burning wood pellets is good for the Enviroment
The energy required to harvest timber then dry and mill it enough to make a 13mm pellets must be nearly as much as the energy in the pellet
I cannot see why we aren't using hydro more as it's predictable unlike solar and wind
The real problem with man made climate change is the rapid growth in human population . There aren't any polititions with the guts to admit it

In N Cumbria AW Jenkinson to name only one has massively increased his wood business on the back of producing woodchip amongst other things.
Penrith is now a trucking town with hundreds parked up at weekends, along with AD plants this part of the world must burn millions of litres of diesel unnecessarily, but the best part of it is that wind energy was fought , along with solar like it was an idea from the very devil himself.

You could not make it up, burning fossil fuels when the wind and sun are there for nothing.

What I laugh at is the folk who burn wood chip to create heat to dry.............wood chip, just to burn it again

Comical
Or the ones heating there homes and workshop in the summer with all doors and windows open.

Don't get me wrong there are genuine cases I know one chap that burns waste wood in his burner and heats his farm shop, restaurant and houses. This is literally waste wood for recycling.

And how much subsidy did he say we are paying out every day through our electricity bill - millions a day! So the Government can hit some target by twisting the figures....

I tried to get a wind turbine and promised some of the money back to the community, the pint I tried to make was that by having a W/T we could all get back some or all of the green tax we paid.
A local Govt employee told me that he had calculated that if the local council had built a modest number of large turbines that they wouldn't have needed to charge any council tax.
I was told to f$$k off.
