Read that Ford and VW are going to be sharing a pickup design in a couple of years. Will be differences but same underneath.
That and a smaller engine but more torque and power it seems.
The days of a 3litre anything are finished i think.

Soon be cutting a hole in the floor and we’ll have to Fred Flintsone it I reckon.

Why Isuzu UK don't bring in the pick-ups into uk with the 3 litre engine as they do in Australia and New Zealand. Seem crazy to me when they already make it. Spoke to a rep from Isuzu UK last year, he didn't know as Isuzu made pickups with a 3 lt engine. Told him to check Isuzu website, he was surprised at what he found.[emoji45]

Is it down to emissions? Think I read they didn't have a dpf though maybe do now.

I run a 3.2 Ranger and am pleased with it,I spoke to the dealer about a month since and he told me that the 3.2 engine is still available alongside the 2.0 twin turbo and is on the new price list,There is another thread covering this on here somewhere

Maybe till they shift old stock 3.2's?

A friend has just got a 1.9 Isuzu, likes it but said it felt a little flat, by all accounts Isuzu will remap it, I gather he is having his done shortly. I have recently had my 2.5 remapped and it has been a transformation, goes like a rocket and pulls very well indeed, very pleased with it.

Damn shame as I really liked the wuffle the big lazy 5 cyl motor made. Mine hasn’t got to 5000 miles yet so hopefully by time it needs changing a more interesting option will be on the table

You might actually like the new 2.0 bi-turbo as I think the wildtrack comes with slightly more horses and some extra torques and the 10 speed auto so your bound to find a gear you like..

The 1.9 I had a quick try in the salesman said it had been chipped but equally it could have been a remap. Mine has to go in at some point soon for wing and door repair and probably service whilst they have it. If the chipped one is about I'll have a closer look.

Your 2.5 - who remapped it? Not the dealer I presume..

All of which has nowt to do with a misfire...

2 litre just lacks cylinders to be interesting, that was the appeal of the 3.2.

When I went to buy the ranger my head said 2.2 and heart said 3.2.

Good job I ignored the voices in my head:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Are you using DAB or FM? Does your d'max have a conventional aerial or one of those shark fin things? Don't think you'll have same Pioneer as fitted to my old d'max but DAB coverage is variable - probably more so in Wales.

Avon Tuning, Bristol.
Took it up to 200hp and a good wallop of extra torque, it's really nice to drive, just keep banging it up a gear and on it goes.
Also much nicer towing, did a trip from Pembrokeshire back here towing 14ft ifor + Fergie + match plough and averaged 23.8mpg which I didnt think too bad as I was maybe going a bit quicker than I should have been.

The usual zero-clue. Sums Isuzu uk up.
Not quite sure if that's the case. Dealer told me they developed to 1.9 engine for the UK market as the import tariffs targeted engines above 2.0. Doesn't sound clueless to me. The 1.9 performs as well as 2.5. Mine has 20k on the clock now with no hassle.

Sounds dodgy to me. Every other brand has more than 2 litres. Not that 1.9 is much smaller than a 2.0 and there is plenty of scope for power there.

Was over at Isuzu dealer last week and they're advertising 'chip upgrade' on the 1.9 d-max. Turns out they slip the ECU off and send it to ECUTek who do their thing then send it back. 190bhp and 400nm of torque - the latter of which the 2.5 had as standard.

Still short of the 3.2 ranger at 197hp and 475NM torque though as standard!
