DIY FEC / Mcmaster slides

My Fecpac slide is acrylic and hasn’t warped in all the time I’ve had it.

I dare say there are some cheap, thin ones knocking about that might have been an issue?
I'm in the process of trying to order some for work, and our head lab tech refuses to order non-glass ones after bad experiences with them in the past, which is why I asked.

I've only ever used glass ones.

I taught parasitology and applied techniques such as worm egg counts (all host species) at Liverpool Vet School for over 40 years, and (sad as it sounds!)
So I’ve seen the transition to acrylic. I’ve never come across any cheap types - they have to be made to precise specification
Chalex and others from USA for example
Glass McMaster slides are hugely expensive and a waste of money compared to acrylic types which do the same job and last longer as they don’t crack or chip like glass. Glass ones are still made - an expensive carry over from the past I guess. I ran a vet diagnostic service fof 20 years, and have used all sorts of brands in this time and indeed have re used acrylic ones during the entire period despite student handling!
