Dear all

It's so important to be aware that pesticides and anthelmintic over use can be environmentally damaging with chemicals finding their way into rivers and waterways and affecting insects and biodiversity
Not only this, excessive use leads to resistance of gut nematodes (ruminants and horses) thus depriving us of valuable effective products in the long term

Treatment based on worm eggs count findings (consult your vet and see SCOPS publications) is the way forward - but sending regular samples away for testing can be expensive

Common worm eggs are simple to recognise, and there is no particular skill required to perform worm egg counting techniques - there are good tutorials and much information out there.
