Went down the fields yesterday checking drains, the field in full view of the house had hoof prints along it,good job I missed them or they would have been walking home. Why do they think they have a god given right to ignore your words No keep off my land. This week the hounds came across the river the screams were enough to wake the dead, yet they were supposed to be hunting at the other side so clearly the kill was illegal.

Don't waste your time complaining anonymously about an anonymous hunt on a public forum.

Ring them and complain. Don't ring the kennels, ring the Masters direct, preferably the senior MFH (if it's a foxhound pack).

In addition, put it in writing to the Masters (c/o The Kennels) in the first week of May and keep a copy.

Also, why not name and shame?

Hunts that can't or wont operate in line with landowners' instructions make life difficult for all the ones that can and do.

There could be various reasons why they have had horses on your land.

It could have been a whipper-in collecting hounds, or a field master who doesn't know whose land is whose.

It is unlikely to have been intentional.

Ok I won't waste my time on here, but considering the hunt put a sign up at my farm gate stating no hunt traffic but I'll deal with it and refrain from posting on here ever again.
Sounds like they have made an effort then, do be so petty man just give better than you get, although he is correct.

I hate the mess they make, I try walking the dog around our margins and about break my ankle, cussing and calling them something that rhymes with hunt all the way round. If it was me I would ban them totally however my grandfather used to be the head hunts man so slightly political!

Old college friend from down south has had such a problem with his local hunt, he now rings the sabs up when they are around as its the only way he can control them. He's had animals abort, gates left open, animals on roads causing road accidents amongst other things. Its literally driven him mad and the local police won't do anything as its classed as a private matter.

If it's classed as a private matter I'd chase the feckers round the field on the quad bike beeping the horn, it might make a mess but they won't like it but hey ho, it's a private matter!

You could poke my eyes out with a hot poker before id phone that bunch of scum, hunt or not.

Last week a couple of guys were using terriers to get a vixen out of an Oak tree on the next farm. The eventually killed her and took the 6 cubs about a week old with them..I wonder why ?
They left the vixen..or what was left of her where she fell...Sick bunch.

Clearly you would not go through loosing the sight from both your eyes instead of calling the sabs, but I understand your point. However this guys issue with the hunt has been ongoing for 5 years and I can tell you its about driven him to despair. He has been involved with two insurance claims where by he was found at fault due to a car and a lorry hitting an animal which was on the road. Both occasions were on days the hunt had left gates open. The farmers insurance company paid out on both occasions but its put his premiums up considerably. Last time I spoke to him he had 25 cows abort over the last 5 years and 12 ewes. Again directly after the hunt had passed through. He has tried speaking to the hunt, he has written to them. He has even had a solicitor contact them but they refuse to acknowledge receipt of the correspondences. His land connects to large hunting areas that can only otherwise be connected by a large busy A road on both sides which would more than likely mean putting horses back into boxes to transport about 2 miles. The hunt in question is mainly towns folk rather than farmers which is the main problem and one of the masters is a barrister apparently. All I know is that it has caused immense distress to the point serious considerations to selling the farm are being discussed.

I rang the master after the hounds found their way around our buildings upsetting our stock. It was a week later before I got an apology; it's happened another twice since.

So no, they don't understand no and nor do the hounds.
