I’ve got Xero and do it myself. I find motivating myself to do it is becoming increasingly challenging. It’s not difficult to do, just mundane.
Have thought of getting someone else to do it, but it seems like it would be wrong to pay for a service I’m perfectly capable of doing myself.

Be aware that I was told that if you sign up via the accountants they own your data.

If you want to move accountants you have to pay enter the information again and any comparison data.

This should not be the case with Xero, as the data is stored in the 'cloud', it is not held by the accountant. The existing accountant would have to change the subscription, to be paid by whomever you were moving to. The only reason data would have to be entered again would be if you were setting up an entirely new subscription on Xero.

There may be a small increase in the subscription, say 15%, if the new accountant was not a Xero partner.

I have been using Xero for some time and have not come across, or heard of, a situation where it would be the case. Then again I do not work for Xero, so could not say with 100% certainty that it is not possible.

As long as their bill has been paid, accountants have to hand all books and records over to their client or new accountant. That includes digital.
