And Alistel/Legumex on new leysReal shame Asulox is not still easily available as it only killed docks not clover, ridiculous that it was banned on grassland!

Pretty sure they do, as for wether it’s licensed for spot spraying is another matter, there plenty of chemicals out there licensed for use in a sprayer that ain’t licensed for spot sprayingWhats best for spot spraying with a quad? Do they still make ally i think it was called?
Tbh i dont really give a hoot what its liesenced for. Im more interested in will it kill the bugger dead or just stun them. I used forefront on spot spraying after advice from some1 that should know what hes on about and they are back growing again this yearPretty sure they do, as for wether it’s licensed for spot spraying is another matter, there plenty of chemicals out there licensed for use in a sprayer that ain’t licensed for spot spraying
No idea ,I asked my spray man and he said it go like paste and blocks his nozzleswhy can’t you mix doxstar and thistlex?
That’s what pas - tor is !
Mcpa on Thissle is an expensive way of toppingI use Pivotal for docks & Prevail for thistles
1 l / ha of each, going early enough at this time of year allows you to keep the rate down.
I also use MCPA on thistles which knocks them down but they come back, but at least the clover survives.
If it’s spot spraying individual plants - Grazon Pro. But it’s like all the other chemistry you have to get the dock at the right growth stage.Whats best for spot spraying with a quad? Do they still make ally i think it was called?
ExactlyTiming is the crucial thing with docks, as every thread on docks explains. Fluroxypr at a reasonable rate but timed perfectly will kill most of them. Some will not be killed because they’re too young or too old, deal with it.
After a cut of silage is ideal, as you’ve made clear. Go twice in one season (half rate fluroxypyr) and you’ll nail almost all of them.Exactly
Best control I've had is after 3rd cut in july/early August
At 1st cut theres too much variation in the dock
By 3rd cut they all at the same growth stage same time
couldnt agree more , what with all this banging on about clover perfectly safe on grasslandReal shame Asulox is not still easily available as it only killed docks not clover, ridiculous that it was banned on grassland!
Yes works well but seems a very slow killAnybody used Squire Ultra, (amidosulfuron)?
I've bought a bottle to try out this year.
Yes. It works but only if you don’t cut or graze the field for 6weeks. It makes them bloody sick if you cut/ damage them sooner though and a shot of mcpa will easily finish them off when they come back.Anybody used Squire Ultra, (amidosulfuron)?

Sounds like you need to spray them before you start with sowing the wild flowers. Wouldn’t be able to spray after surely because you’ll kill the wild flowers? Docks need to be growing well, nettles are easy to kill.Sorry to jump on this thread but I’ve got a small field that I would like to sow wild flowers in but it’s full of docks and nettles. Is there anything I could overall spray the wild flowers with to control the docks or am I wasting my time sowing the wild flowers. The docks come from the river next to it as it gets cleaned out most years and the spoil levelled in the field.
It’s sprayed off now was sown last year but just full of docks so sprayed it off a month ago. Sounds like I may have to grass it down and spray the dock for a few yearsSounds like you need to spray them before you start with sowing the wild flowers.
