dodgy bale wrap

Has anyone had problems with bale wrap letting air into bales this time?
Have haylage that was wrapped in 6 layers as per normal and it seems to be very weak and allowing bits to poke through and spoil the bales. Had a problem a few years ago when we were paid out by the insurers of the maker due to a problem in the factory, just wondered if it is just mine or if others have had a problem

We've used all sorts of brands of wrap over the years and there is a huge difference in quality between them. One lot we used was just awful. You could push your finger through the bales when wrapped. I think cling film would have been better tbh

Yes I have had big troubles this year with wrap, even down to one farmer accusing me of not putting enough Wrap on, seems very thin started putting extra layers on midway through the season.

Can you tell me which make, pm me if you would prefer, this will cost me a lot this winter as already have had complaints from my customers

I used both silograss and powerstrech this season, can't remember what was the worst, but to be honest they were both bad, I think silograss was the worst. Sold a lot of haylage this year so I got my fingers crossed they are ok.

It didn't take long to get around, one customer moaned to a bunch of others before having a word with me, I wasnt very happy, I'm always honest to my customers and try to help them out, if it was my fault I would have sorted it, I'm just glad he was proved wrong. But I still had farmers question me over it after the incident.
