Most weekends we get some lads from the village parking up in various Lay-bys close to our house reving their cars, playing loud music and generally being arses at any time between 11pm and early hours of the morning. Last night at about 2.30am they are there again reving the car but no music - or so I thought. I decided I had had enough and thought I would go out, see who it was and then go to their parents house and sit and rev the rubbish off my truck until they came out and give them a bollocking. When I got to the lay-by, it was an unfamiliar car with two youths in who quickly gestured me to F off, I did, but they followed - at high speed. They tried twice to run me off the road and get in front of my truck, Thankfully they were in some shity old Vauxhall and once I got on the main road, I managed to loose them after a seven mile high speed chase.

I imagine that they were looking to meet someone to either sell drugs possibly to the youngsters in the village I mentioned earlier, or were part of some wider drug logistics operation as there have been others caught in and around the village ‘dealing drugs’. I have reported it to the police, who said ‘why didn’t you call us last night?’ The police officer then said ‘well, there is no offence to report but we will log it as an incident’, I thought ‘well that is the reason I didn’t report it, because you would do feck all’

Anyhow, any thoughts of what could be done to prevent/put off these type of pansies from hanging around here in the future? Was thinking cctv in the lay-bys or even confronting the youths in the village (one of whom is a policeman’s son!) as I am sure they are connected but I can’t prove it.

Exciting night anyway, and thoroughly recommend a ford ranger as a getaway vehicle!

Just to add, a quick internet search of the registration of the vehicle showed it to be a white transit tipper who’s last mot was in 2012 and it failed.

Do your fields border the laybys? Any way of tipping some human shoit or chicken muck near them. The honk may put them off

Before you confront anyone or do anything make sure all your insurances are in order. These type of people have no respect for anything or one so don’t end up a victim. I’m a tolerant person to an extent but once that point is Crossed it too late. Remember to stay within the law yourself and if possible inform the police of action your taking. Maybe a nice bright blue flashing light on you truck would be handy. Lol if it come to it and the cops are called by yourself nothing get them there fast as mentioning that you ‘think’ you saw a gun.

Yes but it’s not really practical and I don’t think it would put them off

Get yourself a few of them big concrete blocks that around a ton weight and some night when thier not there put then at the entrances of the laybuy so they cant get in,

We don’t own the lay-bys and the access tracks they use are shared accesses and bridleways

At the appropriate time, get two pick ups fully loaded with farming acquaintances and go down there. Drive up behind them, lights on full bore. Get out and tell the offending youths that they have 20 seconds to get lost and never come back, or else?

You could also try ringing the police and saying that you think some youths are in a car pished up? Traffic cops will be there in a shot.

How about some sort of flood lights you could switch on from your own land, pointing at the layby.
Just switch on when they appear
How about lying quietly in your bed with ear plugs rather than auditioning for Fast and Furious 7.
It is tempting to do all sorts of harm to others but generally it doesn't end well.
A bloke was jailed for chasing and knocking down a burglar who fled on a motorbike and some have a wider community network who have no scruples about stealing or fire-raising.
Good luck

As above what end result do you want and what risk are you prepared to take to get there?
Remember these type of skanks have very little to lose.

There is a known drugs drop off point near me - someone parks up, goes for a walk, leaves drugs in place. Bit later, someone comes to collect. Plod gives precisely zero fooks.
I really think it's time to legalise drugs and then the criminal element will be stuffed.
Let's face it the illegal nature of the product doesn't appear to be stopping supply.
If people are daft enough to take drugs then not much we can do to stop them but if legalised then perhaps they can be helped with the addiction.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but generally if you are selling drugs you don’t sit in a lay by drawing attention to yourself revving your engine and you don’t chase random folk in pick up trucks about in your beat up old car. More likely just a pair of pikey scum bags.
